If you have high cholesterol, and you need to lower your count, you can switch from vegetable oils and high fat oils to healthier olive oil. I have found that it takes
less olive oil than other oils in cooking...of course you do not want to deep fry with olive oil, but it is best if you don't deep fry anyway.
You can also switch from margerine to pure butter. Butter has a higher fat content, but butter contains healthy fats that will remove cholesterol, while margerine has hydrogenated oils that causes higher unhealthy cholesterol levels. When using butter, use it with moderation...being overweight due to fat is definately not healthier than having high cholesterol.
